Papier Maché Bowl

Natalie Kibbe generally fills her shop, humble Bea, with miniature gnomes, but this photo of a stylishly simple papier maché container especially caught my paper-tuned eye.

Paper Mache Bowl

Created from kraft paper and a black and white image culled from the pages of a damaged book, I love the casually torn edge and delicate machine embroidery. The petite bowl is protected with several layers of non-toxic sealer, yet still looks just like natural paper... which to my way of thinking is a very good thing.

I asked Natalie how she happened to create it, and she answered that due to her love of kraft paper, sewing, and old books, the idea came to her quite naturally. "In my first shop on Etsy I sold my paper creations and sometimes I like to papier maché just for fun." Sounds good to me!
