Wooden Cards and Invitations from b-spired

Friends and collaborators Betsey Reiche and Charlotte Miller of b-spired [edit: site no longer available] in San Francisco introduced their laser cut greeting cards and invitations to me via Twitter. First up, Yoga Cat - ha!

Admittedly I don't feature cards too often, but these are so quirky and unique, I couldn't resist. Betsey does the artwork and thinks up the clever/apropos wording, while Charlotte is the marketing and social media expert.

A layer of rustic, laser cut wood is placed overtop vivid cardstock for bright pops of color.

A sturdy backing makes it easy to display each card. I would want to do that as these are definitely keepers!

b-spired also does party invitations that are made similarly, and custom wall designs too - frameable wedding gifts, for example.

I asked Betsey about the design process. We draw first to get the image inspiration, and then turn to illustrator to do the graphic design work. Each image is worked and reworked through many prototypes until we get exactly what we are looking for.

b-spired is on Etsy. And how nice... Betsey and Charlotte are offering a 40% discount on all cards in the shop today and tomorrow (August 27 and 28) to All Things Paper readers. Use coupon code: allthingspaper at checkout.

Nope, this is not a sponsored post... I just happen to really like these b-spired cards and wanted to share.

And speaking of sharing... if you've had the chance to see a copy of All Things Paper via your favorite bookstore or library and have made any of the projects, I would love to see what you've done.

Or perhaps you have a project in progress? That's fine too! Email me your pics (ann.b.martin@gmail.com) or post 'em on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, your blog, or however you roll and send me the link - I'll be happy to share.

If your library doesn't have the book yet, ask them to order a copy - they're often happy to do that!
