Back then she collaborated with her best friend... they had met in 2007 while working for a Seattle architecture firm and soon launched their green business as a way of being creative and having fun together. A few years later the friend moved away to pursue a different job, but their friendship continues.
Amy has an eye for design, often selecting the most colorful pages and using them in a multitude of ways to decorate picture frames and mirrors, and make scenic wall art. Despite a wide range of styles, the heart of each piece is true to the shop's original mission... the reuse of simple paper as modern home decor.
But that's not to say she doesn't still recreate some of the shop's early, popular designs. They are not exact duplicates, of course, due to the nature of using a material that's impossible to replicate exactly.
Cut paper shadowboxes, candle holders, custom letters, and paper flowers are also on Amy's can-do list, but not always does she coil the pages into slim tubes. Sliced, flat strips make eye-catching backgrounds, as seen on this pretty wall clock.
And here she's utilized circles punched from magazine pages to create a jazzy Advent countdown wreath that features small tins that can be refilled year after year.
Do you appreciate art that shows concern for the environment, even if it's just in a very small way? Every little bit helps!
FYI... Amy has a section in the shop of items that are ready to ship AND they are currently 60% off.
