It's time once again for a round up of recently released and upcoming papercraft titles to inspire us to try something new. In addition to books, I've included some items that I have a feeling any paper lover will instantly relate to... I know I'm tempted by pretty papers! Speaking of which, the very first entry on the list is one that's bound to be coveted by paper aficionados.

Floral Stationery Magic

Masterclass Spheres

Front cover of "Tomoko Fusé's Amazing Kusudama Origami" against a vibrant orange background. The title text is in bold dark gray and blue lettering. Six colorful geometric modular origami balls (kusudama) in shades of purple, red, green, and blue are displayed across the cover.

Tomoko Fuse, widely considered to be Japan's most famous living origami artist and the talented mind behind 65+ origami books, has a new 128-page paperback (also Kindle) for Tuttle Publishing that was just released on June 2: Amazing Kusudama Origami

It includes dozens of intricate geometric kusudama spheres, all detailed with step-by-step instructions. The modular spheres are built entirely from small paper squares that are folded and locked together by the natural tension of the paper... pretty cool!

Moody Textures: Collage Soup

Front cover of "Collage Soup: Botanica Obscura" by Emilee Stone. The title is displayed in a elegant serif typeface surrounded by a collection of moody, dark botanical art panels showcasing rich pink proteas, shadowy watercolor orchids, butterflies, and celestial night skies.

If your creative soul leans toward mixed media, Emilee Stone's Collage Soup: Botanica Obscura  is a must-have collection of unique papers.

Recently released on May 28, it features 95 pages that include moody florals, shadowy botanicals, and deep, dark background sheets. It's designed to be cut up, torn apart, and stuck straight into your art journals or mixed media canvases.

The Joy of Snail Mail

Front cover of "The Art of Snail Mail" by Martina Calvi, featuring a warm coral-pink envelope design with an airmail border. A large, realistic red faux wax seal stamped with a heart-enclosed envelope rests in the center, flanked by tiny illustrations of snails, stamps, and cursive text.

There's nothing quite like the nearly lost art of a handwritten letter. The Art of Snail Mail by Martina Calvi, in hardcover and Kindle formats, will be released by Quadrille on October 13 and is already available for pre-order.

It looks like a fun one as its 176 pages include twenty unique projects that feature tactile activities like stitching your own postcards, writing and folding miniature letters, and cutting a secretive cobweb message to surprise your pen pals.

Mess Free Relaxation: Brain Games

Front cover of "Brain Games Easy Sticker by Number: Calm." A spiral-bound book displaying a beautifully detailed, symmetrical watercolor butterfly. Sections of the butterfly's wings are white with alphanumeric codes like J3, J13, and J27, indicating where stickers are placed.

The newest relaxing offering in the popular Brain Games series is this Easy Sticker by Number: Calm. Arriving on July 16 (pre-order now), the spiral-bound book features ten floral, nature-filled, and cozy scenes. It makes a wonderful, relaxing gift for adults and kids alike, or a nice little treat for yourself.

If you or your offspring can't wait to start peeling and sticking, or maybe there's a trip on the horizon, the Brain Games Garden Blooms sticker book (which dropped this past March) is another enticing option. Its compact size is perfect for a backpack or purse, and it just might prevent those "Are we there yet?" pleas from the back seat. Reviewers are enthusiastic, calling it a "Fun little craft with no mess."

Three Dimensional Insects

Front cover of "3D Papercraft Butterflies & Moths" by Stacia Baldwin. A realistic, large paper sculpture of a cecropia moth with intricate red, white, gray, and patterned wings rests on top of an open vintage scientific book illustrated with botanical insect prints.

More winged creatures... here's another activity-style book that's coming soon. 3D Papercraft Butterflies & Moths by Stacia Baldwin and published by Page Street Publishing will be available as of August 25 and can be pre-ordered now.

The 168 page paperback features fifteen dimensional projects complete with color guides, step-by-step illustrations, and perforated templates. You'll construct beautiful insect models printed directly onto high quality paper while learning facts about each one along the way.

Accessible Folds

Front cover of "Origami for the Absolute Beginner" by Adeline Klam. Set against a soft pastel yellow background, the cover is decorated with a playful scatter of simple origami projects, including a red crane, a blue cat face, a green four-leaf clover, and tiny paper dresses.

For those looking to try their hand at folding for the first time, Origami for the Absolute Beginner by Adeline Klam was released by Search Press just a week ago. (Note that it is a translation of the French edition.)

This paperback (Kindle also) contains forty easy designs... small projects like paper hearts, flowers, stars, animals, and traditional Japanese motifs within its 216 pages. The pages feature step-by-step photography, along with hand-drawn illustrations to clarify the more intricate folds.

Festive Prep

Front cover of "The Bouquet in a Book: Christmas Wreath" by Prudence Rogers. A lush, realistic paper holiday wreath made of dark green holly leaves, pine needles, red berries, paper roses, cinnamon sticks, and dried orange slices is displayed against a dark green wooden background.

It's honestly never too early to start dreaming about cozy December crafting. The Bouquet in a Book Christmas Wreath by Prudence Rogers is arriving from publisher David & Charles on August 25.

Gift-Giving Perfection

Front cover of "Beautiful Blooms Wrapping Paper Book" by Flower Press Studio. The cover is completely covered in a dense, gorgeous pattern of real pressed flowers, including purple larkspur, orange poppies, pink cosmos, white anemones, and green ferns.

The Beautiful Blooms Wrapping Paper Book from Artisan was released last month and is a collection of a dozen detachable gift wrap sheets. Each one measures a generous 19 5/8" x 25 3/4" and features original pressed flower designs by the team at Flower Press Studio.

A special addition is that the book includes twenty five matching gift tag stickers to elevate your packaging game. This would be such a thoughtful, summer-themed present for a paper lover or garden enthusiast.

Structural Fun

0	Front cover of "Cardboard Crafting Made Easy" by Abdellah Harrat. The illustration shows a collection of structural 3D models built entirely out of brown corrugated cardboard, including a large elephant, a two-story house, a small car, and a toy robot.

Lastly, I'm going a bit out on a limb by sharing Cardboard Crafting Made Easy by Abdellah Harrat. This 80-page paperback is self-published and hasn't received any reviews since its March 31 release. However, the premise is wonderful and the description is well-written. (In all honesty, that isn't always the case with self-published works... a poorly written synopsis is often a tip-off to what's inside.)

Step-by-step instructions and included templates suggest that building the 3D cardboard animals, vehicles, and miniature buildings is beginner-friendly. It's recommended for ages 8 and up, making it an enjoyable summertime activity for elementary school kids.

So there you have it...  a little something for every style of paper lover!
