13 Papery Ways to Zhuzh Up Your Halloween Decor

There are soooo many cool things popping up in Etsy shops for Halloween that I couldn't resist gathering a collection of spooktacular items that jumped out at me... BOO!

Best part? All of these finds are made of paper and can be displayed year after year. An abundance of Halloween decorations are plastic and considered disposable... a scary thought indeed, so choosing paper decor is a nice alternative.

Halloween paper cutting shows pumpkin coach with black cat inside, gate, autumn leaves, and little girls in witch costumes

Papercut artist and illustrator Nancy Michalak in Maine is an Etsy shop owner whose scissor cut, printed Halloween cards I had the pleasure of receiving some years ago. I was happy to discover they are still popular and selling well - the pumpkin coach is just one example - plus Nancy has added some wonderful illustrations to the mix.

Each frameable card is 5" x 7" and many are also available in an 8" x 10" size. I'm picturing this black crows print placed in a dark frame on a mantel or side table to set an eerie mood.

three paper cut 3D pumpkins displayed on table next to two skulls

Carolina of ChirpyLlama in New York offers this lacy, spider-filled pumpkin centerpiece for you to download and cut with your digital cutter. 3 sizes are included. Glitter cardstock is a great choice here. Perhaps you prefer equally detailed lanterns, a candelabra, or chandelier? You'll find those in the shop too.

Karla DeStefano has lots of Halloween cards in her Etsy shop, FrankyandJDesigns, but perhaps the most eye-catching item of all is this glossy and matte black decorative bowl that she made using recycled paper pulp. If drama isn't your jam, there are a number of other color choices, as well as several paper pulp pendant lights.

This highly detailed Halloween mantel display from Fatih of Norrska in England arrives pre-cut and features a haunted house, witches, and cemetery. It includes five individual pieces and the cardstock is sturdy enough to be used for many Halloweens to come. Folds flat for easy storage too. Add little LED tea lights and you'll have a decoration that draws guests in for a closer look.

I'm also admiring the witches garland (seen above) that is sold separately.

Honey Moser of HoneysHive in Malaysia has so many cute quilled earrings and other decorations in her shop. With any luck these perfectly coiled witch hats will reach you in time to wear on Halloween, but if not, you're way ahead of the game for next October.

This little 3D cardstock village designed by Angela of allwedontsay in Arizona is pre-cut, scored, and shipped flat to you in an envelope. Openings are provided to allow for the insertion of flameless LED lights. Also included are eight bats in various sizes. You'll just need tape or glue and a bit of time to assemble the houses.

Abel in California of PaperNativeCo has a limited number of these spooky black floral garlands. Each component is stitched in place to create a sturdy decoration that can be used each October. There is also a black foliage garland with skulls if you'd like to add a creepier touch to your decor.

quilled teardrop shape ring coil earrings in Halloween candy corn colors displayed on glittery surface

Nikitha Yelchuru of PaperSweetly in California sells these simple, but pretty teardrop ring coil quilled earrings in candy corn colors. She lists many quilled designs, not just jewelry, as well as a quilling kit that reviews say is an especially good one for beginners because it isn't overwhelming.

one silver and black and one gold and black low poly bat, each with red eyes, displayed on wall

A digital download to make these low poly bats from Ecogami is free with the purchase of any other Ecogami pattern throughout October 2022. Just use code HALLO22 at the EcogamiShop website. If you prefer, there is also an Ecogami Etsy shop where you will find the same bats, however the code is not in effect on Etsy.

Last but not least... if you have little ghosts and goblins in your life, Lisa of LovelySaltCo in Wisconsin offers a number of cute and easy pre-cut kits for preschoolers. Along with the pumpkin and Frankenstein, there are candy corn and ghost kits, as well as many other seasonal designs.

If you're in the U.S., USPS mainland shipping has been quite speedy recently so I wouldn't hesitate to place an order unless you're in one of the unfortunate areas hard hit by Hurricane Ian. My heart goes out to all of those folks who have so much more to deal with than Halloween decorating.
