Quilled Honeysuckle Tutorial by Sena Runa

I loved honeysuckle season as a child... there was just something so tantalizing about plucking a blossom from the vine, pinching its base, pulling out the long filament and tasting the teeny drop of nectar that would appear like magic. Sena Runa has captured the beauty of a delicate honeysuckle flower as an on-edge quilled design. It is included along with nineteen additional project tutorials in her newest book, Quilling Flowers.

She writes in the introduction that as "June’s birth flower, honeysuckle conveys messages of sweetness and affection. It is believed that the honeysuckle can bring both good luck and good fortune to your home." It sounds like the perfect housewarming gift!

The template size can be adjusted to suit your needs. Secure the printed template on a sturdy piece of cardstock (this will be the background) with sticky tape. Sena suggests using your quilling tool or a compass to trace the outline and then remove the template. Measure your paper strips against the traced lines to gauge the length and follow them to shape and glue each strip in place.
