Wrap Your Holidays in Joy with MASU's Eco-Friendly Collection

Vibrant, American-Made Gift Wrap for the Holiday Season

In the spring of last year, I featured MASU, a unique gift wrap and card small business owned by surface designer Libby Hampel. Why is MASU unique? Because Libby settles for nothing but the best when it comes to creating her line of environmentally-conscious, high-quality paper items that are produced by companies that share her ecological concerns.

A collection of MASU holiday products including rolls of colorful wrapping paper with ornaments and stars, matching greeting cards that say Ho Ho Ho and Merry Christmas, and round gift tags.

All MASU products, as well as packaging, shipping, and marketing materials, are made in America.

The Holiday Collections

Five rolls of vibrant wrapping paper standing upright, featuring patterns like colorful dots, pink FA LA LA text, geometric shapes, and green wreaths.

With the calendar on the cusp of prime present giving/card sending season, there's no better time to showcase the MASU holiday collections with their joyful names, such as Oh What Fun!, Hanukkah Chutzpah, FaLaLaLaLa Pinkmas, and Jingle Jolly Joy.

Blue and yellow Hanukkah wrapping paper featuring stars of David, menorahs, and dreidels, next to a matching card that reads Love And Light.

Libby sent me a sampling of Snowstorm Symphony and Ornament Orchestra gift wrap so that I could experience the paper quality for myself, along a few cards, gift tags and stickers that coordinate perfectly.

The far-from-flimsy wrapping paper sheets are generously sized at 19.75" x 28.75", not to mention the colors are rich and surfaces velvety smooth  Corners fold nicely without tearing or wrinkling. The stock on which the cards and tags are printed is substantial and the envelopes are sturdy.

What Is MASU?

What's with the curious name, MASU?

Libby explains: "In Japanese there are two words for giving, agemasu and kuremasu. Agemasu is used when you are giving to someone. Kuremasu is used when someone is giving to you. MASU embodies all forms of giving."

Eco-Friendly Packaging

She has put much effort and attention to detail into every aspect of the business. In keeping with its eco-friendly theme, tubes of rolled (never folded) gift wrap sheets and greeting cards arrive carefully packaged and protected, not by clear plastic film, but by glassine paper that is curbside recyclable and biodegradable.

Six icons representing MASU's eco-friendly practices: American Made, Process Chlorine Free, Wind Power, Manufactured Carbon Neutral, Recyclable, and Contains Recycled Content.

MASU's cardboard shipping cartons are sealed with plastic-free, recyclable tape, and even the mailing labels are eco-friendly too.
