Paper Illustration and Paper Sculpture - Hannah Miles of Utensils0

Hannah Miles of Utensils0 is a young Instagram friend whose paper art I enjoy seeing each time she posts something new. A recent graduate of Graphic Design BA(Hons) at Sir John Cass Faculty of Art, Architecture and Design, Hannah was fortunate to land a job in London that is developing her talents in both graphic design and paper engineering.

Horrorgami and More New Books in the World of Paper and Design

Five brand new titles have come my way recently that might pique your interest.

Horrorgami: 20 Gruesome Scenes to Cut and Fold is the only project-based book of the batch and is sure to be popular among fans of Halloween and horror movies. Created by Marc Hagan-Guirey, aka the Paper Dandy, you'll find haunted houses and scary film scenes awaiting your scalpel, cutting mat and ruler.

Wedding Paper Goods and Fiber Lab Origami Giveaway

Congratulations to April Rogers and @asollander, origami bow tie winners.

Brace yourself... image-heavy feature ahead! I'm talking weddings today... specifically my oldest son's that took place a few weeks ago in the mountains of upstate New York. Because quite a few paper elements were involved in the occasion, I thought it would be fun to bring them together in one post.

ALTA Papercraft - Geometric Paper Sculptures by Anna Trundle

Anna Trundle of ALTA Papercraft is a papercraft engineer in Melbourne who creates geometric folded paper sculptures as wall art. Australian birds have been a focus, but it's safe to say she can turn just about any animal or object into a colorful, dimensional illustration by combining digital and handcrafted techniques.

Origami Flowers and Vases - NLM Origami Passion

Origami flowers are well-done by many and origami vases are popular too, but Nicole Lopez Menendez of NLM Origami Passion in Westchester, New York is the first person I've come across who is putting them together in a seemingly endless variety of beautiful arrangements. What makes her designs even more special is the use of color-shaded papers that she creates herself. Just look at these realistic hydrangea blooms!

Quilled Orchid Necklace and Quilled Trumpet Flower Wedding Invitation

It's retro-project day... I shared this photo recently on Instagram of an orchid necklace (actually intended to be a framed piece) that I made quite a while ago. Because a couple of people asked about the center, I thought I would post close-ups to show it a bit better.

Putz House Snow and Glitter Tutorial by Carol Fisher of Holiday Spirits

Perhaps it's so hot where you are right now you're wishing for snow or maybe it IS winter and the timing of this post is perfectly appropriate. Either way, I hope you'll enjoy all the tips that Carol Fisher of Chicago has to share about decorating paperboard tiny houses.

She designs a variety of super-cute kits for Etsy shop Holiday Spirits. Frankly, it's never too early to start thinking about... you know... that holiday. I dare not mention the C-word since it is only August, but like Boy Scouts, we will be prepared!

How to add snow and glitter to a putz house /

Bright white Bristol board houses look adorable on their own, but dress them up with a coat of paint and glistening snow and they'll become even sweeter.

Let's get started!

Sculpted Paper Jewelry by Jason Chart-Davies

Incredible brooches and earrings composed of hand cut and folded paper caught my eye on Instagram - what an exercise in patience to assemble so many layers. No easy feat! I wrote to ask designer Jason Chart-Davies of Wales to tell us about his unique work.

Jason Chart-Davies makes truly remarkable paper and silver brooches and earrings.

Custom Quilled Ketubah - Monogram

It's truly been All Things Wedding around this blog and my house this summer as our oldest son was married over the weekend. It was so much fun, but more about that another time... today I have another recently married couple's ketubah to show you.
